About the ‘Metamaterials in the Real World’ Showcase 2023

Date: Monday 11th December 14:00 – 17:00 (followed by drinks reception 17:00 – 19:00).

Format: In person only.

Venue: Cloth Hall Court, Quebec Street, Leeds, LS1 2HA.

Travel: Attendees are expected to arrange their own travel to the venue. The venue is only a short (<5 min) journey by car or by foot from the Leeds Railway Station.

Showcase Material

Showcase Material: We are keen to display a wide selection of exhibits from a variety of different research disciplines and application areas so, if you have anything you wish to present in the showcase, please fill this out the Expression of Interest form. Examples of showcase material include (but are not limited to!) demonstrators, simulations, videos and posters showing metamaterial use cases/case studies. We are looking for material that shows how metamaterials can and are making a difference in the real world!

Material Development: For those interested in exhibiting material who have not yet developed it to full readiness, we would like to discuss how we can support you to finalise the showcase material.

Pitch Sessions: Throughout the event, we will be hosting a series of pitch sessions that provide 5 minute slots (+2 minutes of Q&A) for attendees to introduce themselves and their interest in metamaterials. We are keen to from all stages of the innovation process from the first statement of a problem in need of a solution all the way to those who have a metamaterial device looking for an application.
