Format: Workshop consisting of presentations, lab tour and a round table discussion
Date: 25th June 2024
Location: In person at the University of Southampton (with remote participation during the morning session)
The Manufacturing and Scale-Up (MSU) Challenge Area as part of UK Metamaterials NetworkPlus will hold a one-day workshop on the Nanofabrication of Metamaterials at the University of Southampton on 25th June 2024.
Nanofabrication is one of the key manufacturing technologies for metamaterials, a powerful tool to create metamaterials at submicron length scale, e.g., metasurfaces and metalenses. The workshop will highlight the latest advancements in nanofabrication for metamaterials during the morning session, featuring keynote speakers sharing insights into key technologies and applications. In the afternoon, we will embark on a lab tour to witness the cutting-edge facilities at the Southampton Nanofabrication Centre, followed by a roundtable discussion addressing challenges and paving the way for future commercialisation and industry adoption.
This will be a great opportunity to connect, learn and drive innovation in the field of manufacturing metamaterials. We are inviting expressions of interest from potential speakers, and both academics and industry professionals are highly welcome. This in-person event also offers an online option for remote participation in the morning session.
Please fill out the expression of interest form to register for this workshop by 10th June. Registration including lunch and refreshments is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs cannot be covered except in exceptional circumstances. If the cost of travel would prevent you attending, please contact info@metamaterials.network for information on how to apply to our access fund.
