Metamaterials and metasurfaces are poised to revolutionize the telecoms industry, offering groundbreaking solutions to its most pressing challenges. This is a key moment for the telecoms industry as we look towards the next stage for the evolving mobile communication network across the UK. Areas of research, such as electromagnetic metamaterials have immense potential as key pillars to support the deployment of high-frequency telecommunications, such as millimetre wave (mmWave) 5G, 6G, and even terehertz (THz). The potential of these metamaterials underscores the far-reaching implications which are possible for the telecommunications sector.

This event aims to explore the transformative potential of metamaterials and foster dialogue between industry experts, funders, and researchers. We also welcome those from outside the field of metamaterials to join us in exploring the opportunities metamaterials offer the telecoms field.
