Our Second EMMA-CoI Meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th April 2025

at The Portobello Centre at the University of Sheffield

Event Details

Following the successful launch of the EMMA-CoI in March 2024, we are now pleased to be organizing our second meeting. It will be held at The University of Sheffield on Tuesday 15th April 2025 and will provide us with opportunities to view laboratory and work at the University. EMMA-CoI meetings aim to act as a focal point and discussion forum for the electromagnetic materials research and development activities across the UK and to allow us to reflect on the ongoing and developing requirements for electromagnetic (EM) materials metrology.

The event will include presentations, poster sessions and laboratory tours. We invite papers and posters on RF, Microwave and THz EM Materials Metrology for presentation at the meeting covering new measurement techniqes; improved techniques; requirements; traceability; unvertainty; calibration; and validation and verification.

Attendees may like to know that The University of Sheffield will be holding an Open Day for their UKRI National mmWave Facility on Wednesday 16th April 10.00 – 16.30, including talks from a range of funders on their latest funding strategy and upcoming calls, notably aimed at supporting SMEs and business. EMMA-CoI attendees interested in mmWave antennas, metamaterials and circuits are warmly encouraged to attend both events, which have been arranged on adjacent days. Further details on this event will be distributed in due course.

Who?

The RF, Microwave and THz community interested in materials metrology, including dielectrics, magnetics, composites, metamaterials, liquids, biological and functional materials, as well as materials for communications and electronics.

Notes

  • This is a one-day meeting, so the number of presentations will have to be limited. Please contact the event organisers as to availability of presentation and poster slots
  • Acceptance of papers and posters for the meeting will depend upon their compliance with the remit of the CoI (as described above).

The information in all papers and discussions will effectively be passing out into the Public Domain. Delegates will be requested to sign a declaration upon arrival to confirm that they are aware of their IPR and professional confidential commitments situation and that they are content to participate in the meeting on this basis.
